Necropolis of Khiva Khans, Khiva, Uzbekistan
Muhammad-Rahim-khan I reconstructed Pahlavan-Mahmud's mausoleum so, that necropolis of Qungrad dynasty arose 'at the feet' of the 'Khiva's saint'. Pahlavan-Mahmuas tomb is situated behind a low fence in the western wing and tomb of Muhammad-Rahim-khan I was built on the central axis of the mausoleum in a pentahedral niche. Later, in 1825, there was built the eastern wing where Aliakuli-khan (1825-1842) was buried. Gravestones of these three tombs are decorated with elegant majolica. The marble gravestone of Abulgazi-khan (1603-1664) and probable gravestone of Anush-khan with date of death '1681' were brought into the mausoleum. Its portal pylon has a marble plate with an epitaph to a courtier of llbars-khan II (1728-1740).
Another Khiva khan Asfendiyar prepared in advance a big family tomb in korikhona of Pahlavan-Mahmud Necropolis. His mother Kutlugbiki4(hanum was buried in thatdahma. However, Asfendi-yarkhan was not. He died out of Ichan-Qala and Khiva tradition did not let the dead body leave the city.
