The Museum of Amir Timur was built in honor of the Central Asian warlord and ruler of the 15th century, who created a huge empire with the capital in Samarkand, and captured thousands of medeival scholars, musicians, builders and engineers to build the glorious cities in his empire. The Museum features various relics from that time, as well as extensive materials related to the history of Timur's war raids, governmental and social events of that time, and history of the Temurids: the descendants of the Emperor, who ruled in the country after his death.
