Kok-Gumbaz mosque in Shahrisabz was built on the same axis with a much esteemed Temurid mausoleum. Amir Temur's spiritual preceptor sheikh Shams ad-Din Kulyal al-Keshi was buried in it. According to sources Temur's father Muhammad Taragay was reburied in the same mausoleum. There is a legend saying that sheikh Kulyal was the first to inspire Amir Temur to become the Lord of the world. Nice dome mausoleum above the sheikh's tomb was built at the beginning of the 1370s and originally was open to four sides. The entrance turned to the mosque was decorated with a portal. By the 20th century only the walls and a part of a carved marble gravestone were safe.
