Going uphill from the famous Medeo Skating Rink, you will arrive to the popular ski resort called Chymbulak (or Shymbulak), located in a picturesque gorge of Trans-Ili Alatau at an altitude of 2260m above sea level.

There are two options to reach the resort: one is to use the cable cars from the bottom of the Medeo Skating Rink, the other is to drive by car using a serpentine.

The resort is a great place to visit both in summer and winter time. Winter activities are traditional: alpine skiing and downhill skiing, and snowboarding. Chymbulak is a great place to start your skiing exercises: experienced coaches will demonstrate the needed skills and supply the skiing equipment.

The advantages of the Chymbulak ski resort is the availability of skiing tracks, from soft and gentle slopes for beginners, long tracks for advanced skiers and FIS tracks for speed skiing, wild terrain with untouched snow, half-pipes for snowboarding and a special track for Mogul skiing.
