Tashkent as a Business Hub
|
The majority of travel services in Uzbekistan is provided in Tashkent. Surprisingly, some districts of the capital city of Tashkent in terms of the monetary volume of tourist services are far ahead of whole cities, which are the largest centers of tourism in the Republic. For example, the Mirabad district of Tashkent alone provided tourism services in 2022 amounting to over 72 billion soums, which is larger than the same amount for the same period for such cities as
Samarkand,
Bukhara
and
Khiva
combined.
For the period from January to September 2022, the largest volume of services of travel agencies, tour operators, booking and other related services was generated from Mirabad (about 72 billion soums), Yakkasaray (about 51 billion soums), Shaykhantakhur (about 33 billion soums), Mirzo - Ulugbek (21 billion soums) and Yunusabad (21 billion soums) districts of Tashkent.

The explanation for this fact can be the fact that most travel agencies open in Tashkent. Also, Taxhent remains the largest transport hub and political, business and financial center, attracting a large number of businessmen, employees of international organizations and various delegations. This gives a large increase in bookings in hotels that are also located in Tashkent.
