Arrival from Astana, free time in Tashkent
The tour is started at around 17:45pm when you arrive from Astana by Uzbekistan Airways (2 hours, approx. 200 USD per person both ways). In the evening you can have a short excursion of Tashkent, visit its famous Metro and walking areas of the city center.
This day is devoted to driving to Samarkand, the ancient capital of Timur. Along the way, you will visit the famous ceramics workshop of Gizhduvani artisans and ruins of Rabat Malik. In Samarkand, free time and overnight.
In the morning, you drive to Shakhrisabz, the native town of Tamerlane. You will see amazing examples of medieval architecture and history. Then, you drive to Samarkand via a mountain pass (available to certain size groups - check with us). Evening train to Tashkent (dept. 19:00, arr. 21:00). Overnight in Tashkent.
